News - Thelister.com Signs license agreement with eBay

As of 8/6/2002, Thelister.com, Inc. has formed a partnership with eBay that allows us to communicate with their servers directly through what is called the eBay API.  The benefits of this partnership allow Thelister.com, Inc. to provide a more reliable and robust service to you.  In the near future, you will also be seeing some exciting enhancements to the service.

Some examples of benefits and upcoming features include:

  • Increased Reliability - We will receive advanced notice of upcoming changes to the system and be able to react proactively (i.e. no more "darn - eBay changed something again"
  • Better auto-email response - eBay will now contact us directly when your auction ends so that we may process the results quicker.
  • New Auto-Feedback - Leave feedback as soon as you get positive feedback from a winner.
  • Support for eBay Motors and Real-Estate - coming soon
  • New Feature support - such as Fixed Priced auctions
  • More Post Auction Information - we will be incorporating eBay checkout info and feedback status on auctions
  • Paypal Payment Integration - since the recent purchase of Paypal by eBay, we should see some great integration opportunities in the near future

There is much more in the works and we are very excited about the possibilities.

Another exciting offering from Thelister.com will be the opportunity to solicit our development services for your own needs.  This means you could leverage the eBay direct partnership in your own software.  Contact our sales department for more information on this opportunity.

We thank you for your patience during these upgrades and enhancements and hope that you are excited as we are about the upcoming benefits.
